History of Church
The first church was built in 1934 under the initiative of Geevarghese Mor Ivanios, the founder of Malankara Syrian Catholic Church and the first Archbishop of Thiruvananthapuram Archieparchy. It was a hut which was the prevailing style of building construction at that time. However, the hut was replaced by a pucca building within a year. Sacred Heart church acquired the Parameshwara Vilasam Lower Primary School (P.V.L.P.S) and installed it at the east of the church building in 1936. The Daughters of Mary (D.M) Convent was started in 1947 at Adoor. The Holy Angels School was started in 1964 and conferred as a full pledged school in 1977.
The 47th Reunion Anniversary (പുനരൈക്യ വാർഷികം) was hosted by Adoor parish in 1977. The second church was constructed in 1985 when Rev. Fr. Mathew Thuruthiyil was the Vicar.
The present church was consecrated on 17-Sep-2017. The consecration of new church was synchronized with 87th Reunion Anniversary, venue of which was Adoor for the second time. The church started with seven families had grown to a church of 325 active families at present.

ആബൂൻ മാർ ഈവാനിയോസ്
1882 സെപ്റ്റംബർ 21 ന് ജനിച്ചു. പുനരൈക്യ പ്രസ്ഥാനത്തിനു രൂപം കൊടുത്തു മലങ്കര സുറിയാനി കത്തോലിക്കാസഭയുടെ പ്രഥമ ആർച്ചുബിഷപ്പായി.1953 ജൂലൈ 15 ന് കാലം ചെയ്തു. ബഥനി ആശ്രമത്തിൻറ്റെ സ്ഥാപകനായിരുന്നു. മലങ്കര സഭയിലെ ആദ്യത്തെ എം.എ ബിരുദധാരിയായിരുന്നു. കോട്ടയം എം.ഡി സെമിനാരിയുടെ പ്രിൻസിപ്പലായും സെറാംപൂർ കോളേജിലെ പ്രൊഫസ്സറുമായി സേവനം അനുഷ്ഠിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്.
